B7 to B7.1-Style Rear Conversion Kit

This optional kit allows B7 drivers to convert their rear end to a B7.1-style setup, featuring the extra-wide rear tower and flipped shocks. There are 3 versions, the Standard Height (recommended for the T7 kit), the -2 (recommended height), and -4 to be used only with the RC One Chassis Riser and Stiffener.

We’ve done testing and recommend the -2 Version for Black Carpet. The droop, useable stroke length and no need for unnecessary external shims make this the perfect out of box setup.

The kit was designed with the B7 in mind, but it can also be used on the B7.1 if needed. It is engineered to work with stock B7 shock standoffs in combination with our previously released Gullwing and Flipped Shock Adapters. This kit also retains the easy access diff by making all screws still simple to get to.

Kit Includes:

  • 3 × 4mm rear tower shims
  • Lightweight carbon fiber shims: 2mm and 4mm
  • Custom-designed rear adapter
  • 8mm mounting screws
  • 8mm set screws
  • 6x 22mm m3 Button Heads
  • 2x 25mm m3 Button Heads

Installation Instructions

Step 1

Remove the rear shocks and rear shock tower completely.

Step 2

Set shock stroke length:

  • 25mm with 4 eyelets for Standard
  • 25mm with 2 eyelets for both -2 and -4 versions (2mm internal)

⚠️ The -4 version is only recommended when used with the RC One Chassis Riser and Stiffener.

Step 3

Insert one 22mm screw through the Gullwing adapter and tighten the shock standoff onto it.

Thread the set screw in at least 5mm.

Align the set screw and install the included 8mm screw.

This is a tight fit by design to minimize slop and reduce long-term wear from movement.

⚠️ It is not recommended to use the outside mounting hole with these adapters.

Even the widest setting remains wider than the AE B7.1 configuration, and both inner and outer mounting positions are available.

Step 4

Stack all three 4mm shims against the mount and secure them to the car using 2x 22mm screws and 2x 25mm screws where the body brace goes.

Install the tower mount using the stock rear screw and 2 × 22mm screws in the front.

Step 5

Using the stock shock screw, mount the shocks through your preferred tower hole

(we recommend starting second from the inside).

Slide on the 2mm on the bottom mount and 4mm carbon spacers on the tower Mount, mount the shocks flipped, and secure them using HLD M3 aluminum flanged nuts or the stock flanged nuts.

Final Notes

This is a simple, 10-minute upgrade that brings modern rear geometry and feel to your B7 platform with minimal effort.
