Designed specifically for the 22x-4, these precision-machined carbon towers are available in 0, 0 Wide, –2, -2 Wide, –4, and -4 Wide options.

  • Carpet Racing Preference

  • Most competitive carpet racers prefer running the –2 Wide tower for increased consistency and balance on high-grip surfaces or the -4 Wide tower if the 2mm Gearbox Shim is installed. The 0 Wide tower is recommended for Clay.
  • These towers have been designed to bring the 22x-4 into the modern 4wd Buggy era. Allowing it to compete with the other brand 4wd Buggies by improving grip and jumping on clay surfaces while also giving carpet setups more stability, corner speed, and more consistent jumping.

Each tower is manufactured for accuracy and durability to handle the demands of today’s aggressive racing environments, giving you the flexibility to fine-tune your geometry for maximum performance.

A new and exciting product for one of the all-time greats — the TLR 22X-4. This platform deserves an update for the modern era, and Hot Lap Designs is making that happen.

Building on our proven Wide Tower technology developed for Xray and Team Associated cars, we’ve extended that innovation to the 22X-4.
What was once a twitchy, hard-to-drive car on carpet has transformed into a smooth, aggressive, and competitive machine that can now run with today’s top carpet-focused designs.

The car stays flatter through corners, improving balance and consistency. On clay, this tower increases corner grip and rotation while enhancing on-power landings for smoother exits.

Both front and rear versions are available — the -2 for carpet and 0 for high-bite clay — giving you the flexibility to tune your 22X-4 for any surface.
